ADVANCED OPEN WATER CERTIFICATION
Me Again! This makes SCUBA diving even more fun, if that's at all possible. During the training you learn how to make dives between 60-130' (Open Water divers can only dive to 60'), how to navigate underwater - even at night, how to recover lost objects, and learning a lot more about what lives - and plays! - underwater.

'Sea Hunt' LandscapeHere's a great shot of Herb's that shows some of the 'landscape' you can see underwater. This one looks like something out of 'Sea Hunt'.

Here are two friendly critters that you encounter frequently - The variety of angelfish is incredible. They get AngelfishREALLY large and often make you feel like you're one of those plastic divers in someone's aquarium. The Morays aren't nearly as ferocious as their reputation - They always remind me of puppies. You surely don't want to irritate one as their bite IS all it's cracked up to be. But if you treat them with respect, I've seen people hand-feed them tidbits of fish. And they always seem willing to poke their heads out and see what's up.

Fan CoralHere's another shot Herb took of a GORGEOUS piece of Fan Coral. You have to be careful when swimming around or your fins will accidentally kick pieces like this off, killing them, and that would be a real loss to all divers.

Sea Lion says HI THERE!And to close, here are some shots of  Sea Lions. These guys are a lot of fun and seem to feel that divers are provided for their amusement. For instance, poor Steph was often surrounded by 5 or 6 of them. These are all females - the Bulls don't play with divers much from what I've seen and when they come near you it's best to move on. We figured that since usually you have one Bull and many females, and on this dive Steph was surrounded by 5 or 6 male divers, they were coming over to learn her secret...:-))
In these shots you can see Chris being pestered by several playful Sea Lions. They would tug on her fins, make faces at her, and tug on her snorkle (a bit distressing as it's attached to your mask and causes it to flood instantly when they do that!)

So why do you guys wear all that JUNK?

Wonder what this tube thingy is?
Think I'll just tug on it and see what happens...

C'Mon! Swim like me! It's EASY!
Zoooommm!
