Reality
Are
you real?
Or someone from a dream?
Dimly
glimpsed - a shadow in the mist.
An
echo of my soul appearing on a screen
Like
some modern-day ghost in my machine.
I’ve
been empty so long, covering many a lonely mile,
hurt
so bad that I forgot how to smile.
Then
you were there - A harbor light promising haven to me,
long
lost on a storm tossed sea.
A
friend, a love, a trust to share,
Can
you exist anywhere -
But
in my dreams?
Terrified
of what I’m feeling,
terrified
not to try,
Terrified
to hope.
For
if you’re a dream, then I don’t want to wake
and
if you’re reality, I have no need to dream.
